Stocking Stuffers and Secret Santa Surprises
I adore giving gifts. So, for me, Secret Santa exchanges and stocking stuffers are two real highlights of the season. The thrill of finding the perfect little gift is all part of the festive fun and Sylvia Park has to be THE place to find something for everyone!
Secret Santa gifts usually come with a price limit, while stocking stuffers tend to be limited in size. But, my tips will help you find the very best small-but-mighty surprises for both.
1. Think practical and personal
Look for gifts that are both useful and tailored to the recipient’s interests – or, if you’re playing a variation of Secret Santa that includes stealing, something that is going to appeal to lots of people. Practical doesn’t have to be boring or beige, I love beauty minis at this time of year and luxe versions of bookmarks and stationery.
2. Add a dash of fun
Both stockings and secret surprises lend themselves to fun and quirky finds that will bring a smile long after Christmas. Fun mugs, colourful tech or desk accessories and plush pets fit the bill perfectly.
3. Sweeten the deal
Eat, drink and make merry – festive food items are always a welcome addition, giving your recipient a great excuse to indulge in the sweetness of the season.
4. Keep it budget-friendly
A key feature of Secret Santa is a low budget – everyone gets a little joy without breaking the bank. Stockings can be as expensive or inexpensive as you wish – I work to create a balance of lower-priced items alongside little luxe treats, and really flex my creative gift-giving muscles to create impact without expense.
5. Let’s wrap it up!
Wrap up your gifts and get ready for smiles! Hot tip for the parents – individually wrapping the items in children’s stockings is a great way to keep them amused for longer on Christmas morning. Whatever your age, there’s something magical about tiny gifts spilling out of the stocking. When it comes to your Secret Santa gift, if you really want to keep your identity secret, get your gift wrapped by the in-centre charity giftwrappers and ask one of the team to write the recipient’s name for you. Wrapping at home? Try writing the tag with your non-dominant hand!
